Man shot by police during welfare check south of Brisbane
Armed 41-year-old airlifted to hospital in stable condition after allegedly confronting officers at Woodhill property.
A MAN has been shot by Queensland police after he allegedly confronted officers with a firearm during a welfare check at a property south of Brisbane on Thursday night.
Police were called to a Caswell Road address at Woodhill, a rural locality in the City of Logan about 47 kilometres south of Brisbane, at about 9pm on Thursday.
The 41-year-old Woodhill man was allegedly armed with a firearm and advanced on officers, who shot him at the scene.
Police provided first aid before the man was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
No officers or members of the public were injured.
A crime scene has been declared at the property, and police said there was no ongoing risk to public safety.
Queensland's Ethical Standards Command is investigating the incident with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
